Sarasota company celebrates its expansion

A Sarasota company today is celebrating the grand opening of an expansion of its manufacturing operation.

The new facility will have up to 20 new employees, according Kathy Baylis, president of the Economic Development Corp. of Sarasota County.

The company expanded across the street from its plant at 1610 Northgate Blvd. PPI Technologies makes packaging machinery for other companies, primarily those in the food industry.

"I think that is wonderful news," Baylis told a crowd at an EDC breakfast meeting today at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall.
