Herrmann Ultrasonics' TSM top seal modules use ultrasonic vibration to create hermetic seals without heated sealing tools, which makes them a good fit for temperature-sensitive products. The process seals through contamination in the seal area, keeping packages intact even with powder or liquid residue.
The sealing tools vibrate at 30 or 35 kHz, and friction between the film layers melts only the sealing layer, so the seal forms in a fraction of a second while the tools stay cool. Nothing burns onto the film during machine stops, and HDM ProcessControl measures every seal so suspect pouches can be rejected.
The modules seal lengths up to 207 mm with up to 1,200 N of force, are rated IP65/67 for wet, heavily cleaned areas, and fit new packaging machines or retrofit existing ones, driven pneumatically, electrically or from the machine's main shaft.
