What a checkweigher does
A checkweigher weighs each package on a moving belt, compares it with your target weight and tolerance, and rejects packs outside the limits. It catches short fills, overfills, missing items, and doubles, and it records every weight so you can see how your filler is performing across a shift.
It protects you in two directions: underweight packs never reach customers or inspectors, and the weight data shows how much product you are giving away to stay on the safe side.
Why weight control pays
A checkweigher protects you in two directions.
No short-weight packs
Avoid penalties. Packs must meet the net quantity on the label. U.S. inspectors check using NIST Handbook 133, and short-weight lots can mean fines, relabeling or product pulled from shelves.
Less giveaway
Recover product. An extra 5 g on every pack of a 60-a-minute line adds up to about 18 kg of product an hour. With every pack weighed, you can set the filler closer to the label.
Sizing a checkweigher
When you request a quote, have your pack dimensions, weight range, target speed and preferred reject method (belt stop, pusher or drop) ready.
